Hidden Ireland Part One

With the Royal wedding still fresh in our minds, I needed to share my recent trip to Ireland for my annual fix of Irish Cultural. We don't have a monarchy in Ireland, but we do have some serious stately homes and castles where one can stay and dine and feel a wee bit "royal".

Most recently I had the fortune to check out my fifth Hidden Ireland house. My husband and I happened to stumble across thes amazing collection of stately Irish Homes in 2016 . The wonderful thing about the Hidden Ireland houses are their families still live in these stunning homes and work the grounds of the estates. This year we stayed at Clonganny House, a classic Georgian country house built in 1823 just outside the town of Ballygarrett in secluded Wexford, Ireland. Philippe and Brona bought the house in 2014 where Brona's grandfather lived in Ballygarrett. No strangers to the food and accommodation industry,  Philippe is a top French chef with an extensive resume, having worked in many 5* hotels and 3* Michelin restaurants, we knew we were in for a treat. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious!

The house is equally as stunning as the food and let's not forget the wine list. Our sleeping accommodations were in the renovated carriage house and horse barns, tastefully appointed and spacious. The king size bed was super cosy and after a scrumptious meal and good company, I was out  for the count when my head hit the pillow.

If you get a chance, check out these amazing homes and given the chance, book yourself into one on your next trip to Ireland. www.hiddenireland.com
